Kara Ruth Snyder – December 2012 Update

Been Busy in the Studio…

The last few months have been busy ones as I am preparing for a solo show to open on February 1st at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.  It has been an interesting journey so far.  Above are a couple quick shots of works “in progress” taken with my iPhone.

I am working on a new body of work called “Above Dusk” that will be at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts from February 1 – April 7.  That is all I will say, for now, until PCA makes their official announcement.  After that point I will share much more about my process in getting ready for this show.  Suffice it to say, though, I am VERY excited for this opportunity.

Other things on the horizon :
I will have two abstract paintings in the Invitational Holiday Show at the Fein Art Gallery on the North Side.  Opening is on December 14th.

I will have a one night display of abstract work at the “Meet the Artist Series:  Part Three” sponsored by the Holocaust Center of the Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh.  The evening will feature the poetic works of Judith Robinson as she reads from her new book, The Blue Heart”– which is dedicated to the Holocaust Center.  This will happen on February 21, 2013 at Tamari’s Restaurant and Lounge in Lawrenceville.  More details to come soon!

Thanks for visiting!
